LOUIS ROEDERER BRUT VINTAGE ROSÉ from Louis Roederer is a remarkable champagne crafted from the 2010 Pinot Noir harvest. This sparkling rosé distinctly reflects the features of its vintage, created through a traditional method known as bleeding. The wine presents a subtle salmon hue, achieved through skin maceration—a technique that involves allowing the Pinot Noir grapes to sit in the press for several hours to draw out their unique, fruity color accented with bluish undertones. This method necessitates the use of grapes that are aromatic and highly concentrated, sourced from the estate’s oldest vineyards in Cumières. The effervescence is both vibrant and delicate. On the palate, the champagne unveils a bouquet of honeysuckle and lilies intertwined with notes of currants, wild strawberries, and tangerines. Following this fruity introduction, the wine transitions into warm, comforting, traditional smoky undertones. The initial taste is crisp, fresh, and ripe, culminating in a refined and elegant finish. Brut Vintage Rosé undergoes a maturation period on its lees for 4 to 5 years, after which it is rested for an additional 6 months post-disgorgement to further enhance its complexity and depth.
