Description
Shalimar, the first amber fragrance created by Jacques Guerlain, is celebrating its centenary. To mark this exceptional occasion, Guerlain unveils Shalimar L'Essence, an intense variation that concentrates Shalimar's distinctive codes into a true quintessence. A tribute to the modernity, audacity, and eternal seduction of Guerlain's most famous women's fragrance.
More than a perfume, Shalimar L'Essence is a declaration of love. A declaration by Delphine Jelk, Guerlain's Creative Director of Perfumery, to the icon of the House's heritage and, specifically, to its most emblematic note, the cornerstone of its trail: vanilla. Delphine Jelk has added the precious Madagascar vanilla tincture, derived from Guerlain's ancestral expertise, to the ethyl vanillin of Jacques Guerlain's original formula, to give Shalimar a new intensity without altering its olfactory signature.
Discreet and subtle, bergamot illuminates the floral heart, which combines rose absolute with the powdery elegance of iris. Gradually, the amber of Shalimar unfolds, deeper than ever. Used in abundance, vanilla brings new soft, woody, and slightly tangy facets.
For Shalimar L'Essence, Guerlain has reinterpreted the logo on its iconic bottle. A nod to Art Deco, Shalimar's contemporary artistic movement. The lettering, assembled into a bold, graphic logo, is crafted in a golden hue reminiscent of the fragrance's signature. The iconic bottle, both rooted in its history and resolutely contemporary, bridges the gap between the eternal Shalimar and the Shalimar of tomorrow.
