Description
Florida Water, developed by Master Perfumer Robert I. Murray in early 19th-century New York, serves as a refreshing alternative to the classic Eau de Cologne. Murray’s creation leans more heavily on the vibrant citrus essence of oranges, rather than on the lemon and neroli found in the traditional formula. Its immense popularity led it to outshine its European counterpart within a mere ten years, earning the title of the “Most Famous Perfume in the World.” The fragrance’s name alludes not just to its floral composition, which features lavender and clove, but also to the legendary Fountain of Eternal Youth, believed to be in the U.S. state of Florida. Remarkably, the original formula crafted in 1808 remains in use today.
